About Us
Mission Statement
To provide quality, effective and realistic basketball training to players, teams and coaches.
At the heart of Henderson Basketball Training is our belief that basketball is a great tool to empower and develop young people. We strive to facilitate an awareness of personal strengths, a confidence in the benefits of preparation, and the realization that they choose what they bring to any team or environment.
We believe basketball skills training should contain three major concepts.
Game like drills:
We teach basketball concepts that transfer directly to game play. In an age where flash over fundamentals is becoming prevalent, we focus on teaching players to make the smart, easy play for themselves & their teammates.
Technique before speed:
We believe in training correct technique before adding speed. We value the time it takes to train correct form and create correct habits. This promotes effective execution once a competitive pace is introduced.
Competition:
To ensure players are learning concepts, creating positive habits and able to effectively implement new skills into games, competition is necessary. Players will compete against themselves in timed drills or compete against others in their training group. Competition provides an effective evaluation of acquired skills.
